PERL (Practical Extraction and Report Language)
Interpreted programming language, originally designed for text processing. After the invention of the World Wide Web PERL has proven to be very convenient way to communicate with Web servers via CGI, since it could easily obtain data from HTML forms, process them and generate new HTML pages. This PERL has gained great popularity primarily as a language for writing CGI scripts.
The main advantages of PERL programming for the Web: opportunities, a large library of ready-made scripts available on all platforms. Deficiencies, as such, are bound with the CGI technology.
To access the databases currently used DBI Perl module built on a modular architecture for each DBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc) there is a driver that implements the specificity of work with a specific database.
