TELNET Protocol application layer

Website Hosting

Is a standard application layer protocol in the TCP/IP for remote access to the system. The Protocol provides a "link" the keyboard and the monitor on the client computer with shell on the remote server to execute sisemnyh command. Uses one connection through TCP port 23. Part of the Telnet Protocol is also included in other application layer protocols (e.g. HTTP, FTP, SMTP).

Is not secure because all the information (names, passwords, command, data) is sent in plaintext, so now is replaced with the more secure SSH protocol counterpart.
