XML (Extensible Markup Language)

Website Hosting

Is a format for storing and transmitting structured data across different information processing systems. The World Wide Web is used as a markup language similar to HTML. But unlike HTML, there are no predefined elements, but instead are given the opportunity to create their items, i.e. the document creator can define such a set of tags, which he considers necessary. This set of tags is grouped in a set of grammatical rules, called a DTD (Document Type Definition)-a document type definition.

XML document can be associated with the CSS table describing the rules for formatting elements. A table of XSL (Extensible Stylesheet Language)-Extensible style sheet language, with more possibilities than CSS, and designed specifically for XML documents. It is also possible to write a custom script to access, display and manipulation of XML elements.

The official XML specification 1.0 in its original form in English can be found at: http://www.w3.org/TR/2000/REC-xml-20001006 in Russian-http://www.rol.ru/news/it/helpdesk/xml01.htm.
